Mariners Cottage, Vernons Lane, Appledore, DevonOur cottage is ideally situated in one of the typically narrow streets in the old part of the town, and a few seconds walk from the Quay and local shops. It is a typical fisherman’s cottage which has been modernised and is now a cosy and comfortable holiday home.It is a holiday "home" in every sense of the word. We use it ourselves regularly. Self-catering is made as easy as possible with a small supermarket just along the Quay and a large Safeway in Bideford. Fresh fish is sometimes available from trawlers on the Quay. There is an excellent tea room and delicatessen just around the corner in Market Street and for those who do not simply want to exchange one kitchen for another! - there are small restaurants and pubs with bar and good restaurant food within a very short walk. Our cottage is available for booking all year round. Winter rates are low and it can be as comfortable and cosy in the winter as in the summer. Storage Heaters are provided in the lounge at no extra charge between October and March. Out of season we are happy to offer long weekend and short breaks when the cottage is available. |
